What a wonderful time we had here at Lago di Bolsena! With your lovely apartment as our home base, we visited all the villages around the lake. We got a lot out of your information. Our favorite villages were definitely Orvieto and Bagnoreggio. The drive there was already quite an experience with beautiful views! Waking up in the morning with a cup of coffee and enjoying the lovely view of the lake from the balcony was a nice start to the day every time. Eline, thank you for the warm welcome and the helpful tips! We will certainly recommend your apartment! We really enjoyed it, thank you!

We really enjoyed your lovely apartment, the beautiful surroundings and the warm weather. We look back on our stay with a good feeling. But as always, it passed by quickly. The lake was also beautiful, with the quiet little beaches where you could park your car right by the water.
The apartment was very clean and well stocked with plenty of information about the area. Eline's welcome was also very warm, and the information she gave us was clear. In short, a recommendation.

We also enjoyed a wonderful warm week in Valentano. We had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. We visited almost all the villages and towns, and we were very charmed by Orvieto, Tuscania and Farnese (beautiful in the evening!!) We ate well in several places, especially in Farnese but also in Valentano (Voltarella, very cozy!).
At Lago di Bolsena we found a nice, quiet spot to swim. This gave us a pleasant cooling off on these warm days.
Your apartment is very quiet, perfectly central, with a beautiful view over the lake, very neat, in short: we look back on a lovely time in your 'little house'. It's great that there is a lot of information available about the area, we were able to make good use of it. Eline, thank you for your warm welcome! Warm regards from René and Yvonne in Urmond!

We spent a lovely couple of days at this clean and charming flat whilst travelling around Lake Bolsena. Edwin & John were so friendly during the booking process, and Eline (their caretaker) was a delight (and super helpful) when we arrived, making us feel settled and at home straight away. The flat itself is a perfect spot to relax - with beautiful views over the lake and 2 balconies for enjoying your breakfast coffee or evening meal on. The apartment is situated in a small town called Valentano, where there isn't much going on, but all the nearby towns and amenities are a short drive away. For example, the beach at Capodimonte is 10 mins away, and the nearest supermarket in Marta about 15 mins away. A particularly good restaurant we ate at was Pepe Nero, overlooking the lake at Capodimonte - the seafood here was really fresh, and superb! However, we did stumble across a lovely, authentic restaurant in Valentano called La Voltarella, so you can eat well nearby as well!

There is a time for arriving... and indeed for leaving. This is our last evening at Il Bellago. We will miss it! We have had a really lovely time here. We got a lot of use out of your extensive info folder and did fun things every day. We liked the apartment very much. Thank you to Eline for her warm welcome and her interest in how we were doing. We also want to thank Coen for the effort regarding the internet, which in the end worked perfectly. We recommend everyone rent this apartment, it is very complete. You even have baking paper :) We just want to wish the next tenants a great deal of fun and who knows, see you later!

We really enjoyed our stay in your beautiful apartment. We felt at home right away, thanks in part to the delicious welcome drink that was waiting for us. The apartment looks modern, is pleasantly spacious, comfortable and equipped with every convenience. Clean, with enough towels and bedding. The kitchen is also fully equipped with all the necessary appliances and enough tableware. From the balcony you have a fantastic view over Lago di Bolsena.
There are many charming villages to visit nearby. The day trip to Siena was definitely worth it. We also visited Civita di Bagnoregio, the dying city. Next time we really want to visit the village. It was too hot to walk there over the 'hanging' footbridge this time. A visit to Rome by train is also on the plan for next time. From Valentano, Tuscany and Umbria are easily accessible.
We look back on a wonderful week and will certainly come back again. We can recommend this apartment and the surroundings to everyone!

Despite the warm weather, it stays pleasantly cool in the apartment.

By the way, it is also an excellent way to get to know the Lazio region from here. Tuscany and Umbria are also easily accessible. And a day trip to the coast at Porto Ercolé is also very doable. My daughter and I spent 2 weeks in the summer holidays at the apartment in Valentano. Everything your heart desires is available here: beautiful rooms, clean, plenty of towels and bedding, a wonderful view over the region and the lake, and a surprise welcome package so you can start the dolce vita Italy feeling right away with things in the fridge. There is an enormous amount of information about the tourist attractions and nature in the region (really top, thanks Betty!). We were happy to stay on the west side of Lago di Bolsena, where everything was in Italian hands, so you get the Italian feeling right away. Swimming in the lake 7 km away in Capodimonte (among others) is ideal in warm temperatures. Delicious pizzas here. Two more special tips: "Parco dei Mostri" in Bomarzo (50 min away) and "Il Giardino di Daniel Spoerri" in Seggiano (1.5 h away). Super holiday all in all despite the heat!

We thoroughly enjoyed a week at Bellago at the end of June. Bellago is a lovely apartment where we immediately felt at home. A fantastic view, a beautiful area with many sights, sunny weather, very tasty regional products, and a visit to Rome made it perfect for us.

In June 2011 we spent a week in the apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It started with the warm welcome. The apartment is spacious and perfectly maintained, and in person it was even more beautiful than we had assumed from the photos.
We also liked the surroundings very much. Beautiful medieval towns. What is lovely is that all that history is an integral part of everyday life. In the Netherlands we put a fence around it and ask for admission, while in Italy it is simply lived in.
All in all, a real recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy Italian life from a spacious and stylish apartment, in a region where tourism is not yet overwhelming.
